" read about our training, education & development strategies before deciding on your statutory and duty of care safety training requirements"

Here you’ll find details on the relevant courses we offer, including further information on the time commitment which will be required, and the types of delegates each course is aimed at. Since, however, our ability to be flexible is something we pride ourselves on, we’ll be more than happy to tailor and adapt our courses according to your specific requirements and needs. We are also able to offer 'bolt-on' training modules covering areas such as manual handling operations and procedures should this be something you require. Conflict management is another such 'bolt-on' which  can easily be integrated into the syllabus of any of our standard first aid courses if necessary.

  • firstaidseals.com courses and qualifications meet the requirements of relevant government & awarding bodies and comply with industry standards and sector codes of practice.

  • firstaidseals.com  differs from other first aid training organisations in our basic approach and our tried and tested teaching strategies. We’re only too well aware that there can be a whole world of difference between learning the theory of procedures to follow in an emergency situation in a cosy, unchallenging classroom set-up and the stressful and often distressing realities which delegates will face if they find themselves in the middle of a real life medical crisis. That’s why we believe it’s of the utmost importance to recreate in as far as possible the conditions and circumstances of actual emergency scenarios.

  • firstaidseals.com trainers/assessors have extensive experience of dealing with emergency critical incident situations: our Director of Medical Training Services, for example, has served many years as an army 'paramedic' under frontline battlefield conditions and as a former police (RUC GC/ PSNI) senior first aid trainer/assessor specialising in serious public order and counter-terrorist close protection training and development.

  • firstaidseals.com are so familiar with the sorts of stresses and difficulties people may encounter when suddenly called upon to take actions which may save lives, we can realistically help prepare our delegates for such circumstances. We’re also careful too to consider the possible emotional and psychological aspects of these situations . . .

  • firstaidseals.com training centre has a number of onsite & satellite facilities which enable us to simulate a variety of emergency scenarios, and hence better prepare delegates for the real thing. The environment we’ve created may present more challenges for those we are training than the conventional, cosy classroom set-up, but you can be sure that our delegates are far better prepared than most!

firstaidseals.com teaching strategy is simple: we believe that learning happens much more effectively when delegates are actively involved in practical exercises and tasks, rather than overwhelmed with theory. So we underpin each new step with simple, hands-on tasks and repeat these from time to time to optimise recall and assimilation. We use as little medical jargon and as few technical terms as possible, to avoid confusion, but also believe that people remember things more easily when they understand why and how they happen. Our scenario based training reflects the real world challenges of health & safety and first aid at work incident management.

" What I hear I forget,

  What I see I remember,

  What I do I understand "
